About

Dream Catcher is the first title in Evolution Gaming’s Live Money Wheel category, aimed to appeal to a wide range of players due to its extremely simple rules and engaging gameplay.

Evolution describes Dream Catchers as:

“an unequal game of chance played using a super-sized, vertically mounted spinning wheel”

Dream catcher is reminiscent of the large vertical wheels often seen in land-based casinos, which go by various names, such as: Big Six, Big Wheel, Lucky Wheel or simply Money Wheel.

The large, precision-engineered wheel, contains 54 colourful segments offering a range of different values along with 2x and 7x multipliers. As soon as the wheel starts to spin, the anticipation begins to build.

You can easily follow all of the immersive action thanks to Evolution Gaming’s state-of-the-art multi-camera installation, which auto-synchronises light and sound effects to the hypnotic whirring of the wheel.

In essence, Dream Catcher feels like a live game show. Well-dressed game hosts constantly engage with players before and during each spin, whilst the bright lights shine through from the backdrop to highlight the brightly coloured money wheel.

This combination of elements has won praise from fans and experts alike as Dream Catcher was crowned Digital Product of the Year in 2017 at the Global Gaming Awards.

Dream Catcher Tutorial

evolution gaming screenshotWe mentioned earlier that Dream Catcher is played on a big wheel with multiple segments, but before you start spinning away you’ll want to know exactly how to play and how to win.

Just like any money wheel game, your aim is to predict which segment you think the wheel will land on when it comes to a halt. The Dream Catcher wheel is split into 54 equal segments, 52 of which have a numerical value and the remaining two offer a 2x and 7x multiplier.

Certain values appear multiple times in correlation to how great the payout potential is worth.

Check the table below to see what values there are and how frequently they appear on the Dream Catcher wheel.

ValueWheel Segments
123
215
57
104
202
401
2x Multiplier1
7x Multiplier1

As you can see from the table, the lower the value, the more frequently it appears on the wheel.

The numbers themselves represent their respective payouts. Therefore if the wheel were to come to rest at number 1, you would receive 1:1, 2 would result in 2:1 and at the top end, 40 would pay an incredible 40:1. The remaining segments, 2x Multiplier and 7x Multiplier which are coloured silver and gold act as a sort of bonus feature where enhanced prizes await, more on this in our bonus section.

When placing your bets, the numbers appear in the UI on a correspondingly coloured betting grid, which appears in front of the wheel and game host, so you can easily select your choice.

As this is a live casino game, the betting window is quite narrow. You can only place your bets after the previous game round has ended and before the next has begun. If you plan to play for an extended period of time and with the same stakes, we advise you to take advantage of the ‘Autoplay’ function so that you don’t miss out on any potential wins.

You can choose to repeat your bet for a selected number of spins and you can disable ‘Autoplay’ to alter your stake, or simply take a break at any point.

When playing the award-winning Dream Catcher, you will benefit from a similar RTP (Return to Player) as if you were playing online video slots.

This game has an RTP of 90.57% – 96.58%. The optimal theoretical return to player is 96.58%.

Dream Catcher Bonus

Like the majority of big money wheel games, Dream Catcher doesn’t feature a bonus round per sé. However, as we touched upon earlier, there are 2 segments on the wheel which serve as multipliers.

When the wheel lands on either of these multipliers, the atmosphere reaches new heights as the payout potential of Dream Catcher is truly unveiled.

Multiplier Respins

The 2x and 7x multipliers are a major highlight of Dream Catcher’s live gameplay as any opportunity to increase your potential winnings is always welcome. All players currently involved sit a little closer to the edge of their seats as the prospect of big wins becomes ever more likely whenever the wheel lands on either of these segments.

As there is no option to specifically wager on this outcome, whenever the multiplier is triggered all previous bets will remain in place and the wheel will be spun once again. The outcome of the next spin (1, 2, 5, 10, 20 or 40) will determine the winning wager as usual, but the odds will be multiplied by the 2x or 7x multiplier applied from the previous game round.

As exciting as the prospect of a 7x multiplier coupled with the wheel landing on 40 is, there’s even more to it than that!

The reason Dream Catcher is loved and played by so many is that the multipliers can keep on coming. If you’re lucky enough, the wheel can land on the multiplier segments a number of times in a row.

What this essentially means is that if the wheel stops on a multiplier 2 or more spins in a row, then the eventual winning number is multiplied several times. We’ll show a few examples of what awaits when the Dream Catch wheel is spun and the multipliers come into play.

Example 1: You place a €10 bet on number 10 and the wheel lands on a 7x multiplier. After the second spin, the wheel stops on 10. Your payout would be (10 to 1) x 7 and would result in a 70:1 payout of €700.

Example 2: You place a €10 bet on number 20 and the wheel lands on a 7x multiplier. The second spin the awards another 2x multiplier and finally the wheel lands on number 20. Your payout would be (20 to 1) x 7 x 2 = (140 to 1 x 2) = 280 to 1. Your €10 stake has won you a staggering €2,800!

In theory, there isn’t a limit to how many times a multiplier can land on consecutive spins. In the unlikely situation that it does so, numerous times, your wins will continue to build until the maximum win limit of €500,000 is reached.

Maximum Win

When playing Dream Catcher, the maximum amount which you can win is dependant on which segment you are betting on.

As each value on the wheel is subject to various betting limits and odds, they each have their own maximum wins. For the purposes of our explanation, we shall be using the maximum stakes available for each segment of the wheel.

There is an overall maximum limit to what you can win too, but this will only ever be a result of the multiplier segments being awarded numerous times and that is €500,000.

Wheel SegmentMaximum Win
1€10,000
2€10,000
5€20,000
10€20,000
20€20,000
40€20,000
2x MultiplierUp to €500,000
7x MultiplierUp to €500,000

Bet Limits

Dream catcher has an enormous range of betting options. Players who are trying this game out for the first time can test the waters with extremely small stakes and those who consider themselves to be high rolling veterans can choose to play with a much higher wager.

Below the live stream, a range of chip values will be present from which you can select your stake. The minimum bet per segment is as low as €0.10, but the maximum is dependant on which segment you choose.

The chip values you can choose from are: €0.10, €0.50, €1, €5, €25 and €100.

Something that should be mentioned is the Evolution Gaming have provided Dream Catcher with configurable bet limits, so certain operators may offer different limits. You can check out the most typical bet limits per segment in the table below.
